帶傷上陣的James Harden，一路上遇到防守者刻意刁難，但依舊還是能貢獻全隊最高的34分，外加9籃板，最重要的是比賽結束前五秒，提早對Carmelo Anthony 執行犯規戰術成功，讓投進的逆轉三分球被裁判宣判不算。
賽後面對記者追問，有45分10籃板雙十表現的Carmelo Anthony 無奈表示：「球進算不算，已經不重要了。」雖然當下尼克總教練Mike Woodson 曾主動要求裁判看重播，但被拒絕。反觀是站在罰球線上的次數，才是較在意的地方。「我也想得到Harden 那種哨音待遇。」James Harden 得到18次的罰球機會，相較於Carmelo Anthony 的4次，讓球迷對於主客場的優勢似乎認為不會是影響這場比賽勝負的關鍵。
